Mutant Melee is a fun RPG forum allowing for multiple interpretations of canon character in an environment encouraging the stepping up of minor characters. We do not want to be a harsh or strict environment and hope to inspire expansions of writers' character resources.
That being said, this forum will not be a madhouse by any means. The following rules absolutely must be followed.
1. The Golden Rule. Nothing could be more simple. Respect your fellow players as you wish to be respected. We will not tolerate uncivil conduct toward one another (in and out of character). If a problem arises do not fight it out on the threads but contact an administrator or moderator of the forum.
2. Show patience. People on the forum can, of course, be granted having a life and will not always respond to your posts by the hour.
3. Avoid three-word posts when playing in character. A sentence or two will not hurt anyone and we're not asking for a full out soliloquy by your character for each post. Just try to remember that an entire post saying "He huffed." or "He sat." do not make for the right environment in this forum.
4. When playing in character please attempt to stay in character! While this is a multiverse interpretive forum, once a certain personality or character tendency is declared please attempt to stick with it.
5. NO spam. Spamming will be punishable by immediate banning.
6. While we are a mature bunch of writers (usually ) unwonted gore, sexual content, nudity, and so on is unnecessary and slowly killing my childhood heroes. Seriously, guys. Maturity does not involve seeing how much you paid attention in your anatomy classes.
7. If you are going to swear, keep your character in mind. Everything, in context, will be tolerated but if you have a five year old Shadow Jones telling her grandma to f**** off so she can smoke a joint you're violating the In Character law of the land.
8. Drama queens beware: We Do Not Want You. Act your age. If you attempt to start drama you will be ignored, warned, then banned if the trends continue.
9. If a scene is already in progress and you enter your character into said scene, remember to be patient. Responses to your character's entrance will eventually be written into their posts. Likewise, if you are in a scene in progress and a new character enters, please try to write in the character accordingly.
10. Fights are in turn-based form. Think Final Fantasy games:
_A. One fighting move per post. Do not kick and punch and throw a shuriken at your opponent all in one post. One attack at a time.
_B. You do not determine the damage to the other character.
_C. When you are attacked, you must acknowledge it. But you also cannot avoid every attack. Despite playing in a world of ninja, no one's perfect here.
11. You cannot say how someone else's character responds to you in your post. This is the point of RPG.
12. Only ONE account per person. End of story.
13. Use proper grammar. Characters can, of course, have accents and colloquialism is allowed but remember to use correct grammatical form otherwise. It makes for an easier play. Please avoid text talk.
14. Do not bump threads for the sake of bumping them.
For more information on the actual character play, see Character Rules.
