Other Characters: Radical, Katmandu, Ninjara, Karai
Name: Michelangelo
Gender: Male
Species: Mutant Turtle
Age: 16
Universe: 2003 Cartoon
Time Period: Post Season Four
History: Life started in a bowl. It is a well known tale of four baby turtles, pets of a boy carried around in a jar, which tails spinned into a series of events involving the loss, mutation, and rebirth of the four hatchlings as well as the noble rat which took them in. One of those turtles happened to be Michelangelo.
Brought up in the arts of Ninjitsu, Mike was always the laid back and happy-go-lucky brother among his siblings. He rarely took things other than his comic books and hero fetishes seriously. Yet it was this perpetual innocence which truly won him a special spot among the family: the youngest brother and son, the innocent one of the bunch. It was a roll he took on easily and has carried with him ever since.
When he chose his weapons, Michelangelo was fond and therein chose his signature nunchucks which he brandished with his favorite color, orange, just as he had his mask.
After years of training in the shadows of the New York City sewers with his sensei, Splinter, and his brothers, Mike found his world turned upside down as the only home they had ever known was attacked and subsequently destroyed by tiny robots known as Mousers. These Mousers would lead to only the first of his and his family's many adventures which would earn them their first true friendships: April O'Neil and Casey Jones.
These trips to the sewers also introduced Michelangelo and his family to their first true mortal enemies, the Foot Clan and their leader Oroku Saki, aka the Shredder. Their Clans' private wars would continue and last through multiple deaths of the Shredder as well as the development of several other enemies including Agent Bishop (who almost sliced Mike open), Mr. Touch and Mr. Go (who... attacked?), and Baxter Stockman (Mouser dude).
While maintaining his happy disposition, Mike has no doubt evolved as can be seen in his interactions with the Super Heroes of the Justice Force as well as his own brothers. Not that this character development should be overestimated, mind you. He's still Mikey.
Oh, and for the record: He's the Battle Nexus Champion.
Personality: Mike is the quintessential goofball. He can be obnoxious, clueless, or plain annoying -- did you know he's the Battle Nexus Champion?-- all for the sake of a laugh either for himself or for others. These traits, however, do not water down the fact that he's a kick ass ninja with many natural skills such as his speed and agility (if only he could hone in on them). He is also not willing to let someone else get the last laugh on him or his brothers: no one messes with family.
Lately, after the merging, Mike has taken up writing as an outlet and found, much to his great surprise, that he's fairly good at it. He has not so much as calmed down as he has taken notice of other outlets he can tap into. Also, some new surroundings and faces are strangely familiar to him. It's almost as if he is remembering things from another life time...
Strengths: Mike has what some might call a mental barrier: he will not allow himself to be taken down too easily. Try to talk him down in a fight and he will most likely talk back. He is also a very skilled ninja despite his impatience or utter boredom in training. Has he mentioned he's the Battle Nexus Champion? He's an easy character to get along with and, of his brothers, is the most outgoing and social.
Weaknesses: While a skilled ninja, Mike's lack of attentiveness shines through in his fighting as well as his skill level when compared to the ever studious Leonardo or the battle ready Raphael. He wouldn't be, per say, a weakest link on the battlefield but he definitely would not be holding up the entire fight on his own in normal circumstances. His over excitement and impulsive curiosity can also cause him severe trouble, getting him and others in situations that could otherwise be avoided. He can also repel possible allies by his bountiful energy and tendency to be annoying. He's the Battle Nexus Champion, by the way.
Mike also is a little insecure in the One-Verse. He continues to remember conflicting things and he's not sure what to make of it yet.
Appearance: A five foot, two inch turtle with blue-green skin, blue eyes, and an orange mask can't always be that hard to miss.
